Queen City Bronze is a professional, community
handbell ensemble based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The group was born in October of 2008 under
the direction of Jennifer Cauhorn, Executive
Director of the American Guild of English
Handbell Ringers. Originally, the group of
auditioned ringers was formed for the purpose
of performing on stage with the Cincinnati
Pops during their 2008 Holiday Concert series.
Following overwhelming praise from the Pops
organization and concertgoers, members of
the ensemble made a decision to expand the
group and the repertoire to become a full-time
ensemble. The mission of Queen City Bronze
is to increase the understanding and appreciation
of one of the world’s oldest and most
versatile art forms. Through community engagement,
professional performances and education,
QCB intends to leave a unique musical stamp
on Cincinnati and the surrounding area. The
seventeen members currently practice for
three hours per week and travel up to seventy
miles to arrive at their rehearsal location.
The group practices and performs a wide range
of repertoire including sacred and secular
music. QCB is available for concerts, receptions,
weddings, and other events.
