She currently works as Executive Director of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (AGEHR) and enjoys reading, cooking, and attending wine tasting events.

Dawn is the newly elected Treasurer of Queen City Bronze and brings a strong musical and financial history to the group. Dawn began a musical career as a flute player and Field Commander while in school and has established a love of handbells over the last several years. Dawn comes to the group with 10 years experience playing with her church group, the John Wesley Handbells. Dawn’s musical background makes her valuable to the group as both a bass clef and treble clef ringer. Dawn currently works in the Finance Department for the city of Blue Ash and serves as the Finance Chairperson at John Wesley United Methodist Church. Outside of handbells, Dawn spends time with her family and enjoys being a referee for soccer.

Dan brings 15 years of handbell experience to QCB. He has built his experience by ringing with the Mason United Methodist Choir, the Jubilation Ringers of Centerville, Virgina, and the National City Christian Cathedral ringers of Washington DC. In addition to handbells, Dan has more than 30 years experience playing the accordion, trombone, and piano. In addition he has 37 years acting experience. He also currently sings with the Cincinnati Choral Society and was recently elected as President-Elect for Queen City Bronze. Dan stays very busy keeping up with his family and working as a Professor of Business Management for Brown Mackie College.

Amy is the newly elected Secretary of Queen City Bronze. This talented musician began ringing handbells back in her elementary school days. For more than 24 years now, Amy has rung with an extensive number of groups and organizations. She has also spent the last 17 years performing as a solo bell ringer and 20 years as a small ensemble ringer. In addition to ringing she has spent 1 year directing a 6th-grade youth choir and 2 years directing an adult choir. When not spending time ringing handbells, or playing piano or clarinet, Amy enjoys DIY home projects and scrapbooking.

Queen City Bronze is the first handbell ensemble Matt has joined since moving to Cincinnati. Matt has played for many different bell choirs in northern Ohio throughout the past 15 years. He has played with the Youth Bells of Akron (Akron, Ohio), Monroe Street Methodist (Toledo, Ohio), and the Collingwood Community Handbell Ensemble (Toledo, Ohio); a group he built from the ground up. He has five years directing experience, working with notable handbell directors like Bill Payne. When not working as a Pricing Analyst, or ringing with Queen City Bronze Matt enjoys spending time with his dog, Wimbledon and catching up on his favorite shows.

For the last 6 years, Amy has been developing her skills as a ringer in several different areas of the art. Amy is not only an original member of the Queen City Bronze, she also rings for the Trinity Tower bells, the handbell choir from Milford United Methodist Church. For fun, Amy enjoys spending time with her family. When her schedule allows for it, Amy likes to travel with the family and be a coach for her sons’ baseball teams.

For the past 18 years Leisa has enjoyed playing for a few local handbell organizations. She spent ten years playing with the Anderson Hills United Methodist Church, and eight years at Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church, playing with the Carillon Ringers. Throughout the last several years Leisa has attended various bell festivals in Toledo, Columbus and Cincinnati. In addition to handbells, she began playing piano at the age of eight and currently works as a dance instructor at Linda Krumme’s School of Dance. In spring of 2009, Leisa was elected as the first President of Queen City Bronze and hopes to cement QCB as a new musical staple in Cincinnati.

Jeremy joins Queen City Bronze as the newest musician to handbells. Although he only began ringing with a community handbell ensemble in Toledo five years ago, Jeremy brings a wealth of musical knowledge as an experienced trombonist. In addition to his performance experience as a brass player, Jeremy employs his musical background as a proud member of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra administrative staff during the week. When he’s not thinking, planning, playing, or marketing music Jeremy is an avid reader and tennis fanatic. Jeremy’s favorite handbell piece is Nocturne in C Minor by Michael Helman.

When not ice skating, playing Guitar Hero, or composing music, Sandy rings handbells….a lot! She began ringing 22 years ago with various groups like the Coventry Ringers, Chapel Handbell Choir, and Westminster Handbell Ensemble (select sextet). She currently plays with Bel Canto (at First Presbyterian in Middletown) and the Middletown Performing Arts Academy Handbell Choir, in addition to QCB. Sandy has attended a variety of bell clinics and conferences throughout the US working with many directors, including William Payne. She has a solid history of solo and small ensemble bell ringing, having the opportunity to play on tour in England with a small sextet ensemble. In addition to all of her bell experience Sandy also holds a BA in Music from Miami University and can also play the violin.

Jamey travels nearly an hour and a half each week to be a part of Queen City Bronze. He enjoys ringing in the bass with QCB as well as his home church choir at Grace United Methodist in Washington Court House, Ohio. In addition to being an outstanding bass ringer of 10 years, Jamey and his family have a few of their own bells they use to perform duets, trios, quartets and more. When Jamey is not filling the role of assistant director with his home choir, or ringing with QCB he is a manager for a fireworks manufacturer and also raises cattle, goats, and turkey. Jamey loves backpacking and Kevin McChesney’s Tempest.

Kathy brings a myriad of experience to QCB as an accomplished keyboardist and accompanist. She has enjoyed ringing with Trinity Tower Bells for more than 13 years and loves to teach piano. During the day, Kathy is a teacher with Blanchester Local Schools where she also has the opportunity to share her musical talents as the assistant band director and accompanist for choirs and soloists. At home with her husband Robert of 31 years, Kathy like to read and garden.

Wendy has been a ringing participant in the Area V Festival since 2006 and hopes to continue that trend ringing with Queen City Bronze. For the last 2 years Wendy has also spent time working as a solo bell ringer. Wendy’s other musical ability is in choral performance. In addition to QCB she sings with the Voices of Praise chancel choir at Epiphany United Methodist Church in Loveland. During her 34 year handbell tenure she has devoted 22 years to directing a variety of both adult and children’s choirs.
